Are 2 Anti-Virus Programs Advisable?
Posted on February 14th, 2008 by Chilli
Can anyone help me with this? I was always wondering if it makes sense to have 2 anti-virus programs installed. Most recently a friend of mine asked me what software he needs to install on his new laptop. And once again I don’t know whether it makes sense or not to have them both. Does anyone know if it has any disadvantages to install for example
AntiVir and
AVG?
Thanks!

It is not really advisable. It may make your computer unstable. You are likely to encounter performance issues rather than a crash.
Running two AV programs can lead to all sorts of conflicts, one of which includes disabling both programs! It’s best to stick with one and maybe use a free online AV scanner to double-check on occasion.
Thanks for post, it’s really interesting for me!!!
AVG is good…easy to use and find more viruses
AVG is the best program.
Thanks for post.
Stick one AV application only. As mentioned above, if you really have to, use an online AV scanner from time to time if you are worried about viruses.
you’ll get your system crash by installing 2 different anti virus. better check how to install it the right way to avoid the conflict.
I wouldn’t never install 2 antiviruses on my pc! They may conflict
and it doesn’t make any sense to me why you should have 2 antiviruses. It is better to one good antivirus like Kaspersky than 2 bad ones…
Thanks for post, it is veru interesting. Thanks!
thanks
Not advisable. It will bring your system to a crawl. I use Mcfee and its brilliant.
One for sure, don’t have them both installed in your system. They will kill each other and leave your system no-guard. I use AVG, and i’ve tried for both version, Free and Pay. Much better if you try to use AVG Internet Security, a complete solution to protect your system. Have no worried while surf the internet…
